Employment Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an Employment Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in Los Angeles, California.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3+ years of employment litigation and counseling experience to join a nationally recognized Labor & Employment practice. The team advises and represents employers in sophisticated employment disputes, including class and collective actions, while providing strategic counseling on workplace issues and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Represent employers in all phases of employment litigation, from case inception through resolution.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive litigation filings.

  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including written discovery, document review, and witness preparation.

  • Defend employers in class and collective employment actions.

  • Provide day-to-day employment counseling on workplace policies, employment practices, and risk management.

  • Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies for complex employment matters.

  • Work directly with clients to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary legal teams on sophisticated employment matters.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Active membership in the California Bar.

  • 3+ years of employment litigation and counseling experience.

  • Significant experience handling class and collective employment actions.

  • Experience drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and handling complex employment litigation matters.

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, and written advocacy skills.

  • Outstanding academic credentials.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $260,000-$435,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
