Position Overview

King Built Properties is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Site Superintendent to oversee a diverse portfolio of construction and land-development projects throughout Southwest Missouri. The selected candidate must be capable of immediately taking ownership of active jobsites while developing into a larger construction-operations leadership role.

We welcome experienced site superintendents, construction managers, project managers, civil construction professionals, and former construction business owners who no longer want the financial risk and administrative burden of owning a company. This is a client-facing role requiring professional communication, dependable leadership, strong judgment, and a polished, client-ready presence.

Projects You May Manage
  • High-end custom homes and semi-custom residential construction
  • Single-family rental homes and residential communities
  • Townhome and apartment developments
  • Residential subdivisions and land-development infrastructure
  • Future commercial and mixed-use projects
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage daily field operations across one or more active projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate construction schedules.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, engineers, and company personnel.
  • Review plans, specifications, scopes of work, and construction details.
  • Maintain high standards for quality, safety, cleanliness, and jobsite organization.
  • Identify and resolve issues before they affect schedules, budgets, or customer relationships.
  • Conduct jobsite meetings and hold subcontractors accountable while preserving productive relationships.
  • Coordinate inspections, punch lists, homeowner orientations, and project closeout.
  • Maintain accurate project records, progress photographs, schedules, and reports.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, investors, engineers, municipalities, and project partners.
  • Assist with estimating, budgeting, constructability reviews, and preconstruction planning.
  • Help recruit, train, and manage future superintendents and project personnel.
Leadership Growth Opportunity

This position is intended to grow beyond traditional jobsite supervision. The successful candidate will be evaluated and developed for senior leadership based on performance, financial discipline, project execution, communication, and organizational ability.

  • Potential advancement to Director of Construction, Vice President of Construction Operations, General Manager, or President of Building Operations.
  • Future responsibility for multiple projects, superintendents, project managers, budgets, production goals, subcontractor relationships, and company construction systems.
  • Opportunity to help build the processes, personnel, and standards required for regional growth.
Required Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience as a site superintendent, construction manager, project manager, civil construction professional, or construction company owner.
  • Strong knowledge of residential, multifamily, commercial, or civil construction.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors, maintain schedules, and coordinate multiple priorities.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Working knowledge of project budgets, cost controls, inspections, and construction documentation.
  • Strong leadership, organization, problem-solving, and client-communication skills.
  • Comfort using email, digital plans, scheduling tools, and project-management software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Professional, polished, and client-ready appearance, communication, and conduct.
Preferred Experience
  • Seven to fifteen years of construction-management experience.
  • Custom-home or high-end residential construction experience.
  • Experience with apartments, townhomes, subdivisions, or rental housing.
  • Civil engineering, grading, utilities, streets, stormwater, or land-development experience.
  • Previous ownership or senior management of a construction company.
  • Experience managing multiple superintendents, project managers, or field employees.
Compensation and Benefits
  • $85,000-$125,000 annual salary based on experience, credentials, leadership ability, and the level of responsibility the candidate can assume.
  • Employer-sponsored health insurance benefit.
  • Company truck and company-paid fuel for business use.
  • Relocation Assistance Provided
  • Company phone and computer.
  • Dedicated office and desk.
  • Administrative and project-management support.
  • Significant long-term advancement opportunity.
  • Potential consideration for additional performance-based compensation as responsibilities increase.
