Opportunity Overview:
We are looking for Technical Contract Manufacturer Manager to act as the operations manager for Teradyne products manufactured at our contract manufacturers. The responsibility of the Contract Manufacturer Manager is to develop and maintain the operational relationship between Teradyne and the CM and to ensure that Teradyne's manufacturing plan is met.
This role will be supporting the Integrated Systems Test Group products. Our key products are automated systems level tests equipment in the HDD industry and the AI chips/ modules in the SEMICON industry.
This position requires some travel to Asia, approx. every quarter: visiting suppliers, quarterly business reviews, etc.
  1. Communication and Management
    • Establish and maintain operational relationships with the CM.
    • Act as main technical contact for the CM and Teradyne. Work with Technical Customer Focus Team (CFT) to provide Teradyne with regular status reports on product yields, manufacturing efficiency and operational metrics.
    • Develop, maintain and review stability metrics.

  1. Supply Chain / Materials Planning Execution and Problem Solving
      • Devise effective and efficient materials planning and execution plans to deliver complex automated test equipment (ATE) systems to satisfy the bookings and demand.
      • Review progress with NPI Ops, HVM Ops, Product Marketing and Engineering peers (internal and external) to plan and develop action plans to resolve or appropriately communicate gaps. Regularly confer with the CM to resolve supply chain operational problems.
      • Direct and coordinate activities of the CM and required Teradyne support functions to ensure that
        • Supply chain operational problems are being identified, addressed and resolved.
        • Work with their supply chain or supply base management team to ensure materials planning and associated improvement plans are developed and executed.
        • Materials planning and acquisition efficiency improvement plans are identified, developed and executed.
      • Ensure CM's ability to deliver Materials Requirements Plan to meet our demand
        • Review capacity plans with CMs, various key and critical suppliers to ensure forecasts and bookings can be delivered.
        • Identify improvement opportunities that can be addressed by Teradyne and the CM as well as the suppliers with our Commodity team.
      • Flexibility and Risk Mitigation Plan
        • Propose and develop flexibility in overall supply chain to manage demand fluctuation of the BU.
        • Always develop risk mitigation plan should the materials supply chain possess risk in delivering the demand eventually the revenue.

  • Technical Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10 years of operations experience
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

  • Detailed understanding of Lean and 5S concepts preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of PCBA and Electromechanical manufacturing process preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory, capacity, material gathering, engineering, and finance aspects of manufacturing and outsourcing of electromechanical systems and PCBAs

** This position will be working from our HQ located in North Reading, MA. We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $145,000 - $232,000. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan:
This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
