Job description

Title: Coordinator of Religious Education and Youth Ministry, Full-time
Reports to: Pastor
Location: St. Finbarr Catholic Church | Naples FL
Classification: Salaried/Exempt
Overview
The Coordinator of Religious Education/Youth Ministry will plan, integrate, implement, oversee, and evaluate the religious education/faith formation of the total Parish community.
Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Tuesday evening Communion and Confirmation classes for grades 2 to 12.
  • Plan, organize and administer yearly Totus Tuus Summer Camp.
  • Organize, administer, and coordinate all Youth Ministry activities for Middle School and Senior High School students. These activities include faith formation lessons and social activities on Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon, and special events such as retreats and social outings.
  • Conduct faith formation for OCIA Catechumens and Candidates on Sunday morning (9 AM to 10 AM) and coordinate parish and diocesan celebrations for OCIA participants.
  • Pursue education in current trends in youth ministry and other related professional issues.
  • Obtain approval of Pastor for all off-premises events or special events impacting the broader parish.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff and Diocesan meetings, work with parish staff to develop visioning, scheduling, planning, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a practicing Catholic;
  • Bachelors Degree in Theology, Catechetics or related field.
  • 3-5 years of successful experiences in youth programming, either through employment or voluntary work
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communications skills both written and oral.
