Job description

Overview

Class 1 Driver 

Location: Victoria, BC

Frito Lay (a division of PepsiCo) has a current opening for a Licensed Class 1 Driver.

Schedule: 

  • This position will be based out of Lethbridge, AB and will be required to work a combination of 2-day and 3-day over-the-road runs through Western Canada each week. The assigned runs will be dependent on current business needs.  

Compensation: 39.90$/hr


Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): 

  • Operate a tractor/trailer truck to make long-distance pick-ups and deliveries of our finished products.  

  • Check and assist in the unloading of the trailer. 

  • Fully inspect the vehicle prior to beginning the route to ensure proper and safe handling conditions.  

  • Collect all proper authorizations prior to beginning route. 

  • Maintain an accurate DOT log. 

  • Ensure safety and compliance of load. 

  • Regular and reliable attendance. 

  • Completing Quality/Food Safety training and adhering to the Food Safety Pre Requisite Programs (PRP/oPRP) that is required for your area. 

  • Delivery of product to Frito Lay facilities and external customers in Western Canada with single or Long Combination vehicles (LCV’s). 

  • Offloading trailers with hand carts or palletizing cases at destination (average case weight is 4 kgs). 

  • Travelling safely complying with Frito Lay Canada controls, Traffic Safety legislation, and Commercial Vehicle regulations. 

  • Be customer focused and be a team player. 

Please note: the successful candidate for this role must be able to provide 3-year clean drivers abstract, pass a criminal background check, and complete a functional assessment.  


Qualifications
  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License. 

  • 2 years Class 1 driving experience. 

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Able to maintain professional disposition even when faced with difficult situations.  

  • Able to complete routes safely in varied driving conditions.
