Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the facility's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and leads the development of a structured, data-driven preventive maintenance and reliability program. This role is responsible for asset data architecture, PM strategy and scheduling, work order workflows, parts inventory management, and maintenance analytics. Partners with maintenance, production, and engineering to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and bring discipline, accuracy, and accountability to maintenance operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  Administer and maintain the CMMS, asset records, equipment hierarchy, PM task plans, work order workflows, parts inventory, user accounts and permissions, and data standards

  Establish and enforce data integrity standards to ensure maintenance information is accurate, consistent, and reliable for decision-making

  Build and maintain dashboards and reports tracking PM compliance, work order status, equipment uptime, backlog, and reliability metrics for leadership

  Integrate and optimize CMMS data flow with other plant and enterprise systems where applicable

Preventive Maintenance & Reliability Program

  Develop, implement, and continuously refine the preventive maintenance program based on OEM recommendations, equipment history, and failure analysis

  Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activity to maximize equipment reliability and minimize disruption to production

  Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and drive corrective and preventive actions

  Establish reliability-centered maintenance practices and track key performance indicators to measure and improve program effectiveness

Coordination & Support

  Partner with maintenance, production, and engineering to align maintenance activity with operational priorities

  Manage parts and supplies inventory within the CMMS; coordinate purchasing and vendor relationships for maintenance materials and services

  Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors, managing service documentation and scheduling

  Develop SOPs, train maintenance staff on CMMS use, and drive system adoption to ensure consistent data quality

 Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience. Strong electrical knowledge preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or coordination role preferred. 
  • Proficiency with CMMS software for work order management, scheduling, and reporting. 
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. 
  • Knowledge of PLCs, VSDs, and industrial control systems preferred. 
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and experience preferred. 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience tracking and interpreting maintenance KPIs. 
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, schematics and other instructions. 
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in non-climate controlled environment. 
  • Reliable attendance and commitment to teamwork required.
