Job description

  • Provide technical expertise for the reliability, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance of plant electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Support safe, reliable operation of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, relays, power cables, and related infrastructure
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, hazardous classified location requirements, and facility electrical safety practices
  • Support PSM-covered and highly hazardous processes through MOCs, PHAs, equipment evaluations, and compliance reviews
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams to troubleshoot failures, evaluate repair options, and recommend solutions
  • Lead or support Root Cause Failure Analyses, kaizen events, and structured problem-solving efforts
  • Analyze maintenance, reliability, and performance data to identify trends, failure patterns, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and improve preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies
  • Evaluate critical spare parts inventory and recommend improvements
  • Promote safety and reliability culture through standard work, training support, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Develop area-specific equipment expertise and serve as a subject matter expert
  • Support capital projects through design input, electrical hazard analysis, technical review, reliability evaluations, and scope development
  • Develop, review, and approve specifications, scopes of work, estimates, schedules, vendor proposals, and designs
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of electrical, instrumentation, and/or reliability engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience designing, specifying, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems, instrumentation, control systems, and power distribution equipment
  • Experience with low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems, motor control centers, switchgear, relays, power cables, and related equipment
  • High-voltage distribution experience required where applicable to site assets
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code, especially hazardous electrically classified locations
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency with condition-based maintenance technologies such as infrared thermography, ultrasonics, performance testing, and monitoring tools
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to cross-functional audiences
  • Ability to manage short-duration deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System such as SAP preferred
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies and supporting business systems implementation preferred
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional certification preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, failure analysis, reliability engineering, and manufacturing maintenance strategies preferred
  • Familiarity with FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, MTBF, predictive maintenance, defect elimination, TPM, OEE, uptime optimization, lifecycle cost analysis, and TCO preferred
