Job Description
About the Role:
The Reliability Engineer position is a technical support & engineering role designed to provide on-site technical expertise to the Thermoforming Operations and Maintenance departments. Through collaboration with Production and Maintenance, a Reliability Engineer will identify and analyze machine performance data, lead root cause analyses, and implement predictive maintenance technologies to improve our machine reliability. This position will be responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, optimizing maintenance strategies as well as processes, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Reliability Strategies: Develop, implement, improve, and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis).
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead investigations into equipment failures and chronic breakdowns, developing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Data-Driven Improvements: Monitor equipment performance metrics, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), to identify areas for improvement.
  • Design for Reliability: Collaborate with the project and design teams to ensure new equipment and modifications prioritize reliability, maintainability, and safety.
  • Maintenance Support: Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance to maintenance technicians and operations teams during complex repairs.
  • Spare Parts Management: Optimize critical spare parts inventory by establishing proper stocking levels based on equipment criticality and failure rates.
  • Effectively train technical and support staff on any executed projects
  • Ensure vendor and contractor compliance with all required training, policies, and procedures in accordance with Amcor EHS directives.

Qualifications
  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or reliability engineering required.
  • Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), predictive maintenance tools, and data analysis required.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, excellent cross-functional communication, and a continuous improvement mindset.
