Position Summary
Purpose Financial is looking for a talented, result-oriented, innovative Site Reliability Engineer to join the team!
This position reports to the Systems Integration Manager and is responsible for building and maintaining reliable infrastructure and deployment pipelines in AWS, leveraging Kubernetes/EKS and infrastructure as code. You will create and maintain tools, workflows, and standards that enable developers to ship code efficiently and reliably. This role includes participation in an On-Call rotation.
Job Responsibility
Infrastructure & Cloud Operations
  • Develop and maintain reliable, repeatable processes by leveraging Terraform infrastructure as code and associated pipelines while adhering to AWS best practices.
  • Create, configure, and optimize Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS/Rancher in AWS.
  • Manage system architecture, reliability, and perform root cause analysis of equipment, process, and service failures in both AWS and on-premises environments.
  • Participate in technical capacity planning and forecasting.

CI/CD & Automation
  • Establish and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD) processes using Kubernetes/Rancher CD and GitHub Actions.
  • Contribute to team improvement initiatives and projects, including process improvements, testing tools, and automation.

Monitoring & Reliability
  • Utilize system and application monitoring tools such as Elastic Cloud to support and improve System performance.
  • Participate in an On-Call rotation.

Collaboration & Culture
  • Foster a collaborative and communicative culture between Development and Operations by implementing automation and instrumentation to minimize risk, increase productivity, and scale efficiently.
  • Mentor and train team members as well as developers when needed.
  • Attend engineering, customer, and business meetings as required.

  • Maintain technical documentation and procedures.

Education Required
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, other relevant fields, or equivalent related work experience.
Experience Required
  • 5+ years in a DevOps / SRE role supporting CI/CD and Agile development in production environments
  • 5+ years of designing, implementing, and operating scalable AWS infrastructure
  • 2+ years building and managing CI/CD deployment pipelines
  • 2+ years working with containerized workloads in Kubernetes/EKS

Knowledge Required
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products.
