Associate Portfolio Manager
Position Description
TheAssociate Portfolio Manager is responsible for working with Portfolio Managersto help with servicing our clients' needs and to learn the day-to-day portfoliomanagement and relationship management of designated insurance clients.
Weare seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational andanalytical skills who can support the portfolio management team by deliveringtimely, accurate work.
This role requires reliability, accountability, and theability to independently manage responsibilities.
The ideal candidate isproactive, communicates effectively, and has a genuine interest in developing acareer in portfolio management, along with a desire to learn about fixed incomemarkets and insurance portfolio management.
The PortfolioManagement group is responsible for delivering investment and capitalmanagement services to clients.
The members of the Portfolio Management groupare the day-to-day contacts for NEAM's insurance company clients and lead theinternal client teams.
They are responsible for the relationship management andclient portfolio management functions which include the application of NEAM investmentpolicy to specific client portfolios and having intimate knowledge of theday-to-day activities in the portfolio, client guidelines, risk tolerance, andunique requirements.
Their specific focus is to effectively provide servicethat result in maintenance and growth of assets under management with theirclient.
The Associate Portfolio Manager will represent the firm at regularclient board and investment committee meetings and report on economic andcapital market developments, investment strategy, portfolio activity, andperformance results.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
CFA or progress towards completion preferred.
The successful candidatewill possess a minimum of two years of relevant industry-related experience.
This individual will possess a client service mentality, strong written and oralcommunication skills, and have an ability to make a lasting impression onclients. In addition, this individualwill have:
A capital markets orientation.
An understanding of a wide variety of fixed income assets including Corporates, Municipals, and Structured Securities.
A familiarity with Common and Preferred Stock is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to listen and assimilate information in the context of providing solutions using client services.
Ability to think quickly and offer creative solutions to problems.
Delivers clear, concise, confident client-facing presentations, effectively communicating complex ideas to client stakeholders and prospective clients.
Demonstrated professionalism, team orientation, and a strong work ethic.
Proven ability to think creatively.
Must be comfortable in a team oriented collegial environment that prizes strong individual contribution.
Intellectual curiosity and openness to utilize AI-enabled tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Travel may be required domestically less than 10%.
