Senior Principal, Corporate Tax (Director)

This director manages and oversees filing and preparation of tax returns and related issues for U.S. subsidiaries and certain international subsidiaries.

Responsibilities
  • Review quarterly and annual REIT compliance tests, identify issues and ensure REIT compliance.
  • Manage preparation and filing of REIT and corporate federal and state tax returns.
  • Manage federal and state information requests, audits and notices.
  • Review and assist in preparing the income tax provision and related tax footnote in SEC filings and any stand‑alone reporting obligations.
  • Continuously build technical competence by staying current on tax trends and developments and working with service providers.
  • Develop income tax policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with transfer pricing standards and manage all aspects of transfer pricing including cost sharing agreements and other inter‑company charges.
  • Prepare tax modeling of potential acquisitions.
  • Review earnings and profit calculations and Country‑by‑Country reporting obligations.
  • Monitor case law and tax legislation, advise on potential impact of changes.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of domestic and certain international tax regimes and mitigation strategies for tax planning.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ a talented and diverse team.
  • Provide oversight, direction, coaching, mentoring, onboarding, career development, and performance management.
  • Delegate responsibilities and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create a culture aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and values and focusing on engagement and goal attainment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (specialization in Tax preferred) or related field.
  • 10+ years Corporate Tax experience in a publicly held company or accounting firm.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
