Your primary responsibilities will include conducting assessments and therapy sessions with incarcerated individuals, utilizing technology to maintain connectedness in secure environments.

• Conduct detailed mental health assessments of inmates, gathering critical information regarding their personal history, psychological concerns, and risk factors to inform treatment planning.
• Develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with clients that center on addressing their mental health needs and preparing them for eventual community reintegration.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-focused therapy, to manage a variety of mental health challenges.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing coping strategies and emotional resilience among inmates.
• Work in conjunction with psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners to deliver coordinated, comprehensive mental health care.
• Provide crisis intervention support during mental health emergencies, using de-escalation strategies to stabilize situations.
• Educate inmates and their families about mental health conditions and available resources, empowering them to engage effectively with treatment options.
• Maintain meticulous records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to foster a collaborative approach to inmate care.
• Stay abreast of current laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines that govern mental health practices within the correctional context.

Your work will focus on providing essential mental health services tailored to a diverse inmate population, many of whom face complex psychological issues stemming from their life experiences. You will not only address acute mental health needs but also work towards building long-term coping mechanisms that facilitate reintegration into society.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid LCSW licensure in Texas.
• Demonstrated capacity for providing mental health services, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by incarcerated individuals.
• Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities and a commitment to evidence-based practices.

• Experience working in correctional settings or with vulnerable populations is highly preferred.
• Previous exposure to multidisciplinary team environments enhances your ability to contribute effectively to patient outcomes.
• Familiarity with documentation and record-keeping including electronic health records systems.
