AP4 Technical Services is seeking a Piping Superintendent

We are currently seeking a qualified Piping, Turbine & Compressor Superintendent to join our team!


What are your responsibilities?

The Piping, Turbine & Compressor Superintendent is responsible for supervising, inspecting, and coordinating all piping installation activities associated with gas turbines, compressors, and balance-of-plant systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient execution in accordance with approved OEM procedures, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.

This role supports work planning, installation verification, pressure testing, system walkdowns, and mechanical completion while maintaining alignment with construction schedules, installation sequencing, and system turnover priorities.


What will you do?

  • Lead field oversight of piping installation activities in support of turbine and compressor installation scopes, including fit-up verification, flange management, bolt-up, and final reinstatement.
  • Plan and coordinate daily piping activities in line with mechanical work plans, look-ahead schedules, and system turnover priorities.
  • Ensure installation is performed in accordance with:
  • ASME B31.3
  • API 570
  • Project specifications
  • Approved drawings and isometrics
  • Verify correct installation and setting of pipe supports and spring hangers; anchors, guides, and restraints
  • Temporary supports and shipping restraints removal
  • Interface with turbine and compressor installation teams to:
  • Maintain OEM nozzle load limits
  • Protect equipment alignment
  • Support flushing, cleaning, and test readiness
  • Monitor welding activities and ensure compliance with: Approved WPS and procedures; Welder qualifications
  • Fit-up and joint acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate and witness NDE/NDT activities and ensure timely release for testing and reinstatement.

Requirements:

What do you need to qualify for this role

  • Trade qualification or technical certification in Mechanical / Piping discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in: Power generation, LNG, Oil & Gas
  • Preferred Certifications: API 570, SWIP, ASME code knowledge
  • Turbine/compressor installation projects
  • Strong knowledge of: Piping installation practices, Rotating equipment interface requirements, Welding and NDT processes, Pressure testing and reinstatement
  • Mechanical completion and turnover processes
  • Ability to interpret: P&IDs, Isometrics, GA drawings, EM installation manuals
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline construction environment and support schedule-driven execution.
