Reimbursement Processor information

What is a reimbursement processor?

Reimbursement Processors are professionals responsible for reviewing, verifying, and processing claims for reimbursement, typically in healthcare, insurance, or corporate settings. They ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant policies before approving payments. Their work helps organizations manage financial transactions efficiently and ensures that clients or employees receive timely reimbursements for eligible expenses. Reimbursement Processors also communicate with claimants to resolve discrepancies and answer questions about the reimbursement process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a reimbursement processor?

To thrive as a Reimbursement Processor, you need strong attention to detail, familiarity with medical billing or insurance processes, and typically a background in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration. Experience with claims management software, electronic health records (EHRs), and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are often required. Excellent organizational skills, time management, and effective communication are valuable soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure accurate and timely processing of reimbursement claims, minimizing errors and supporting efficient financial operations within the organization.

What are the most common challenges faced by reimbursement processors, and how can they be managed effectively?

Reimbursement Processors often encounter challenges such as managing high volumes of claims, staying updated on changing insurance policies, and ensuring accuracy in documentation. Effective time management, strong attention to detail, and clear communication with both internal teams and external stakeholders are essential for overcoming these challenges. Many organizations provide ongoing training and support to help processors keep up with regulatory changes and improve workflow efficiency. Building strong relationships with colleagues in billing, finance, and customer service teams also helps streamline issue resolution and fosters a collaborative work environment.

We're looking for a Reimbursement Specialist who brings care, precision, and accountability to their work - someone who understands that behind every claim is a patient relying on access to care.

Why This Role Matters

The Reimbursement Specialist plays a critical role in helping patients receive timely therapy by ensuring claims are handled accurately, efficiently, and with integrity. What You'll Do

  • Ensuring accurate and timely billing and reimbursement of claims
  • Managing claim submissions, corrections, and followups with payers
  • Collaborating closely with pharmacy teams, revenue cycle leadership, and field staff
  • Bringing thoughtfulness, reliability, and followthrough to daily work
  • Identifying and implementing better ways to serve patients, providers, and teammates

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you bring:

  • Deep care about the human impact of your work
  • Clear communication and effective collaboration skills
  • Strong ownership and accountability for responsibilities
  • Comfort learning, adapting, and growing in a dynamic environment
  • A desire to be part of a team that values empathy and high standards
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of medical insurance experience
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, internet navigation)
  • Strong customer service focus and professionalism
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Home infusion experience
  • Experience with CPR+ and/or CareTend
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician

Schedule & Location
  • Varied 8hour schedules across Eastern and Central time zones
  • Hybrid role with work performed onsite in Overland Park, KS and remotely
  • Work location and schedule may change based on business needs
