We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our team at Symbria Rehabilitation Center in Fords, New Jersey. This full-time position involves providing exceptional physical therapy services directly to patients within a rehabilitation setting. This role is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center located in Fords, NJ. Our rehabilitation center is designed to facilitate patient recovery with advanced therapeutic equipment and resources to optimize outcomes.

As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for:

• Directing physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disabilities, relieving pain, and restoring muscle function in accordance with established care protocols.
• Supervising and mentoring Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure effective implementation of tailored treatment plans.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess functional capabilities and devise appropriate rehabilitation strategies.
• Assessing home environments for rehabilitation feasibility and recommending modifications to enhance client independence.
• Administering manual therapeutic exercises, motivational support, and guidance on non-manual exercises and daily functional activities.
• Implementing traction, massage, and various modalities involving physical agents to facilitate recovery.
• Evaluating and fitting patients with prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing necessary recommendations to physicians as required.
• Participating in the development and review of individualized care plans, adapting strategies based on ongoing observations and patient feedback.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously through clinical records, including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in case conferences, contributing valuable insights for patient treatment strategies.
• Providing instruction and support to clients and families regarding post-discharge therapy and equipment use.
• Maintaining timely documentation and submissions in alignment with branch policies.
• Completing functional assessments and adjusting care plans to utilize community resources effectively.

The Physical Therapist will work primarily with adult and geriatric patients, many of whom may be experiencing disabilities from various conditions, including orthopedic injuries, neurological disorders, and post-surgical recoveries. Our goal is to facilitate the highest possible level of function and independence for each patient, tailoring our services to meet their unique needs and preferences.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

• A Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT).
• A valid and current license as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey.
• Current CPR certification.
• A valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
• A commitment to clinical excellence, quality care, and rehabilitation best practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on fostering effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.

Ideal candidates will also have:

• A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist, particularly in an acute care or home care setting.
• Experience working within an interdisciplinary team, contributing positively to collaborative patient care efforts.
• Proficiency in managing diverse patient populations and adapting therapeutic techniques to meet varying needs.
