Job description

Physical Therapist

Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association is a compassionate, patient-focused 25-bed Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare services to our community. We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team and help patients regain function, improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Position Summary

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized physical therapy treatment programs as prescribed by a provider. This position works collaboratively with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Physical Therapist also provides supervision and direction to rehabilitation support staff and assists with departmental operations and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical findings.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, flexibility, and functional independence.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
  • Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), therapy aides, restorative aides, and students as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and performance improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Maintain therapy equipment and promote a safe treatment environment.
  • Assist with staff education, orientation, and department development initiatives.
Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current Montana Physical Therapist license or ability to obtain licensure prior to employment.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer and electronic medical record proficiency.

Preferred

  • Experience in outpatient, inpatient, swing bed, or rural healthcare settings.
  • Experience supervising rehabilitation support staff.
  • ACLS certification.
