Join M&J Engineering on Critical WMATA Rail Rehabilitation Projects in DC!

M&J Engineering is urgently seeking talented and dedicated professionals to join our team for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Rail Mechanical Infrastructure Rehabilitation project. This long-term project aims to maintain and improve critical rail infrastructure. We have immediate (Phase 1) and upcoming (Phase 2) opportunities for the following key positions. Location: Primarily Washington, D.C. (WMATA RBIR Office and various project sites). In-person work is required for many positions.

Responsibilities

Phase 1 - Immediate Opportunities:

  • Project Engineer (Full-Time): Provides administrative and technical support to the project team, manages project documentation in Procore, ensures work aligns with approved plans, and assists with project controls and reporting. Requires 5+ years of project management experience and a related bachelor's degree.
  • Change Order Coordinator (Part-Time): Manages the change order process, including development, tracking, cost analysis, and negotiation, ensuring timely approvals and minimizing project impacts. Requires 10+ years of project control experience on large infrastructure projects.
  • Quality and Safety/Security Certification (SSC) Manager (Full-Time): Develops and oversees the QA/QC program, conducts audits, ensures compliance with safety and security certifications, and manages related documentation. Requires 10+ years of QA/QC experience in construction engineering on large infrastructure projects.
  • Construction Inspector - Mechanical (Four Full-Time Positions): Performs quality assurance/control inspections of mechanical rehabilitation work, documents progress, ensures compliance with specifications and safety regulations, and prepares daily reports. Requires 7+ years of construction inspection experience with a focus on mechanical rehabilitation.
  • Construction Facilitator (Full-Time): Coordinates field work among stakeholders, assigns inspector duties, monitors progress, resolves field issues, and assists with scheduling and resource management. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience in construction inspection or project engineering.
Qualifications

Phase 2 - Upcoming Opportunities (Start Date to be Determined):

  • Project Manager (Full-Time): Leads and manages all aspects of assigned projects, including budget, schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder coordination, ensuring successful project delivery. Requires 20+ years of experience managing large projects and a related bachelor's degree.
  • Construction Engineer (Full-Time): Provides technical and cost analysis support, manages contractor work, ensures compliance with specifications, and oversees the processing of submittals and change orders. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and 7+ years of construction management experience.
  • Project Engineer (Full-Time): Similar to the Phase 1 role, this position will provide administrative and technical support for upcoming projects. Requires 5+ years of project management experience and a related bachelor's degree.
  • Construction Inspector - Structural (Full-Time): Performs quality assurance/control inspections of structural rehabilitation work, documents progress, ensures compliance with specifications and safety regulations, and prepares daily reports. Requires 7+ years of construction inspection experience with a focus on structural work.
  • Construction Inspector - Electrical (Full-Time): Performs quality assurance/control inspections of electrical rehabilitation work, documents progress, ensures compliance with specifications and safety regulations, and prepares daily reports. Requires 7+ years of construction inspection experience with a focus on electrical work.
  • System Integration Software Engineer (Part-Time): Provides expertise in system integration software for the project, ensuring seamless integration of various systems and technologies. Specific experience requirements will be detailed upon project phase activation.
  • 3rd Party Structural Special Inspection Firm (On-Call): Provides specialized structural inspections as needed throughout the project lifecycle. Specific requirements will be detailed upon project phase activation.
