About the Role

the company is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies.

We're looking for an exceptional leader to serve as our Director of Workplace & Engagement, part of our Employee Experience team. This is a senior leadership role with global scope: you'll set the strategy and vision for the company's workplace experience across our 10 global office locations, and help drive engagement for all employees, including our remote workforce. In short, you'll help create amazing employee experiences everywhere the company operates.

In this role, you'll own and scale the team that manages the company's global offices and events, and you'll develop and continuously refine a robust, strategic plan for fully serviced office options (WeWork, etc.) across our footprint. Deep international experience is an absolute priority for this role, as is the judgment to operate as a strategic partner to the broader Employee Experience and Finance leadership teams. We're looking for that special leader who thrives leading and inspiring a team of dedicated Workplace professionals across geographies, and who wants to thoughtfully help remote employees feel a genuine sense of belonging and engagement. As the senior leader of this function, the individual in this role will be expected to go into a local office regularly and to travel to other global locations as needed.

  • Business acumen and expertise in identifying the strategic factors to weigh when making decisions about leased local offices vs. short-term/flexible options (WeWork, Regus, etc.) across a 10-location global portfolio
  • Ability to effectively build the business case, including working closely with Finance to determine overall global budget
  • Ability to strategically direct and advise international brokers to procure the most appropriate and cost-effective options for the company while balancing the needs of the business across regions
  • Skillfully able to elicit the right business requirements from the business and assess what options are viable at each of the company's global locations
  • Experienced in lease terms and negotiations, able to work in close partnership with Finance to produce the best result for the company across multiple countries
  • Broad knowledge of U.S. and international commercial real estate and WFH/hybrid trends, using data to make the best business recommendations for the company's Future of Work

This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.

What You’ll Do
  • Set the strategic vision for and lead a team of creative, driven individuals to create best-in‑class workplace experiences for employees, candidates, and visitors across all 10 the company office locations globally
  • Serve as the senior strategic partner to Finance and other stakeholders on overall office space strategy and management — balancing employee experience with global budgetary requirements
  • Own the plan and criteria for determining when to pursue a leased office vs. another option (WeWork, Spaces, Regus, etc.) across the U.S. and abroad
  • Drive the global employee experience calendar and company events strategy throughout the year, keeping inclusion and belonging top of mind with every project across every region
  • Own vendor selection strategy and guidelines, manage vendor service contracts, lead periodic and ongoing performance and financial reviews, conduct RFPs, and monitor the performance of the team, including service providers, across all 10 locations
