The pay range for this position is $16.09 - $23.27 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Registration Specialist to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Registration Specialist, you will be responsible for providing services to patients and referring professionals by greeting and registering patients in a cheerful, professional, and sincere manner, and performing other duties as assigned.

This is a Part-Time position working 20 hours weekly, Monday through Friday 5:00pm - 9:00pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

(75%) Registration

  • Greets and checks-in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays with patients
  • Fields calls appropriately for center associates
  • Calls patients to confirm upcoming appointments
  • Acts as liaison between technologists and the patients waiting for exams and relays messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information
  • Maintains front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean up
  • Prepares paperwork for daily and upcoming appointments
  • Faxes reports, billing requests, and medical release forms to referring offices as requested
  • Works closely with technologists to ensure patients have a smooth transition between the front office and technical areas

(10%) Insurance

  • Verifies patient's insurance
  • Pre-certifies all exams with patient's insurance company
  • Obtains insurance authorization
  • Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
  • Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following Company guidelines

(10%) Scheduling

  • Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
  • Enters and submits patient exam orders
  • Verifies orders match exam schedules
  • Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained
  • Schedules walk-in patients
  • Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
  • Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians

(5%) Completes other duties as assigned

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • 1-2 years customer service experience
  • Proficient with using computer systems and typing

Preferred:

  • Previous medical office experience
  • Medical terminology and office background
  • Insurance knowledge
  • Bilingual
