Job description

NOVA Engineering is seeking an experienced Residential Building Code Inspector to join our growing team in the Clearwater, Florida market. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential construction projects while ensuring compliance with Florida building codes and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of residential building systems and be qualified to perform inspections in multiple disciplines, including:
  • Building/Structural (Masonry & Frame)
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
  • Mechanical

Responsibilities:
  • Perform residential code inspections on new construction, renovations, and existing structures.
  • Verify compliance with applicable Florida Building Codes and local regulations.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports.
  • Communicate effectively with contractors, homeowners, builders, and municipal officials.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail in all inspection activities.

Qualifications:
  • State of Florida Residential Building Inspector License (1 & 2 Family Dwelling) required.
  • Minimum five (5) years of construction industry experience meeting eligibility requirements for state registration or certification as a General, Building, or Residential Contractor, or equivalent experience as a Project Manager or Construction Superintendent.
  • Working knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and codes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
