Job Overview

Join a fast-paced outpatient breast imaging team where your expertise makes an immediate impact. This flexible locum role offers a mix of screening, diagnostics, and procedures, combined with meaningful patient interaction and a collaborative care environment—ideal for a fellowship-trained radiologist seeking consistency without call.

Start Date: August 3, 2026
Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: 2–3 days per week | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Practice Setting: Outpatient (On-Site Only)
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography
  • Interpret breast ultrasound and breast MRI
  • Conduct image-guided procedures, including:
    • Breast biopsies
    • Localizations
    • Aspirations
  • Manage same-day diagnostic workups
  • Communicate findings directly with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, oncology, nursing, and technologists
Workload & Case Mix
  • Patients per shift: 40–50
  • Screening Mammography: 45–55% (approximately 35–40 cases per day)
  • Diagnostic Imaging: 25–35%
  • Procedures: 15–25%
Requirements
  • Board Certified in Radiology (Required)
  • Breast Imaging Fellowship (Required)
  • Active Michigan medical license (Required at submission)
  • BLS Certification
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • BI-RADS standards
    • MQSA compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills with a strong patient-first approach

  • PACS: Change Healthcare (transitioning to Sectra)
  • Facility Type: Level II Trauma Center
