Job description

Job Title: RN - Interventional Radiology
Specialty: Interventional Radiology
Place of Work (City/State): Bethesda, MD
Site: NIH Clinical Center (Nursing Department)
Location: 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892
Duration: 13-week contract
Start Date: ASAP, upon completion of credentialing/onboarding
Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM; 24-hour on-call coverage for weekends, holidays, and weekdays as needed
How many shifts needed per month: Approx. 20-22 weekday shifts, plus 24-hr on-call rotation
Credentialing/Onboarding time: 6-8 weeks
License: Any state license works (current, active, unrestricted)
Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross); ACLS and PALS required
Education: BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program; passed NCLEX
Experience needed: 2 years of current Interventional Radiology nursing experience (required)
Special Skills needed: Moderate sedation monitoring, pre/post-procedure assessment, vascular access management, familiarity with IR suite workflow and equipment
Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures; monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure including sedation management; assist physicians during procedures; document care per hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Misc: 24-hour on-call responsibility for weekends, holidays, and weekdays as needed.
