Interventional Vascular Technologists are specialized Interventional Radiologists that support the most cutting-edge therapies offered at Cleveland Clinic.In this role, it will be your job to acquire all imaging and post-processing of images while adhering to all state, local and federal licensing regulations.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM - 3:30PM or 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize sterile or aseptic technique to scrub in and perform vascular, interventional, and surgical procedures per protocol.

  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.

  • Ensure patients safety and comfort during and after exams.

  • Demonstrate understanding of primary purpose of drugs used in IR, indications, contraindications, contrast drug interactions and major effects.

  • Position patients to obtain radiographic exposure.

  • Record and maintain procedural data to include injection data, elapsed fluoroscopic time and procedural information.

  • Monitor equipment, systems, clean equipment, and effects timely repair.

  • Learn new technical information and skills through attendance of periodic in-service programs and participation in professional affiliation sessions.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology

  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) and in good standing

  • Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist

  • Basic Life Support certification

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist

  • Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography R.T.(R)(CV)(ARRT) or Vascular-Interventional Radiology R.T.(R)(VI)(ARRT)

  • Knowledge of radiologic physics and computerized vascular equipment to safely inject and image human vascular anatomy

  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy and pathology sufficient to apply to interventional and diagnostic exams

  • Experience in high volume angiography department

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $34.50
