Overview
Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Travel) in Rochester, NY. Start date 08/10/2026 for a travel assignment with a flexible duration. Shift: 4x10 Days. Weekly pay: $2,331โ€“$2,385 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Setting: hospital-based, a 14-bed OR unit performing diverse surgical services. Travel assignment with mandatory call and a block scheduling pattern.

Responsibilities
- Provide circulating and/or scrub roles for a diverse surgical service line (general, ortho total joint/trauma, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, thoracic), including robotic cases with Da Vinci Xi
- Maintain sterile technique, assist with instrument handling, and ensure correct patient positioning and time-out/perioperative safety protocols
- Prepare the OR, assist with draping, suction, specimen handling, and room turnover between cases
- Support preop and postop care, monitor patients intraoperatively, and assist anesthesia and postoperative recovery as assigned
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as required; handle blood products and specimen labeling per protocol
- Document in the EPIC charting system; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Interpretation services, and Unit Secretary)
Requirements
- Licensure: Current NY registered nurse license in hand; no pending licenses
- Certifications: BLS required
- Experience: 3 years of clinical RN experience with surgical/OR exposure (travel RN experience required); unit does not accept first-time travelers
- Skills: Broad OR/surgical competencies across multiple specialties; robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi) and EPIC charting experience preferred
- Competencies: Phlebotomy and IV placement; ability to work in a 14-bed OR unit with block scheduling and call
- Travel eligibility: Travel experience required; candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
- Other: Must be able to participate in mandatory orientation modules; block assignment and call responsibilities apply
