Nurse Manager, RN
POSITION SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager is accountable for the management and leadership of a specific nursing unit. This position evaluates available resources and delegates appropriately to assure quality outcomes of care. They also direct and implement the nursing process. This includes systematic data collection, assessment, development of care plan, implementation of care plan and revision of plan. The Nurse Manager manages and supervises the care of residents through a well-defined care delivery system.
Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive Care Planning: Collects and analyzes resident data, assesses needs, and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; monitors and revises plan as resident conditions change.
  • Clinical Nursing Practice: Provides and supervises nursing care in accordance with state/federal regulations and facility policies, including medication administration, lab draws, and nursing procedures; ensures residents' rights and autonomy are respected.
  • Staff Supervision and Management: Supervises RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; delegates tasks, evaluates performance, corrects unprofessional behavior, ensures safe staffing, and provides guidance during emergencies or when on call.
  • Documentation and Communication: Maintains accurate resident records, charts, and reports; communicates resident care needs, physician orders, and dietary recommendations effectively to staff and interdisciplinary team.
  • Medication and Pharmaceutical Compliance: Administers and monitors medications according to policy, maintains proper documentation, follows controlled substance procedures, and ensures adherence to safety and error-free standards.
  • Facility Compliance and Professional Development: Promotes positive workplace culture, participates in QA programs, continuing education, and audits; maintains current licensure and knowledge of health regulations, infection control, and safety procedures.

Qualifications
  • Must have current registration, as a Registered Nurse, in the State of Minnesota.
  • Must have successfully completed or seek certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for the health care provider.
  • Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility or assisted living community
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree
