Registered Nurse - Perioperative
SCHEDULE
Day - 3x12, 12 hr flex 0630-1900
ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
Guaranteed Hours: 36
Contract Weeks: 13
REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (Required); Bachelor's degree in nursing (Preferred)
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (Required); CNOR, Peri-op 101, CRASE training (Preferred)
- Experience: None (Required); Previous RN circulator experience, Peri-op 101 course, Scrub experience (Preferred)
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver safe and effective patient-family centered care in the operating room and perioperative services.
- Act as a patient advocate and ensure the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy are maintained.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and communicate the patient's status throughout the continuum of care.
- Implement and evaluate the plan of care, ensuring that all surgical practices are adhered to, including site, side, and level checks, and specimen management.
- Administer medications safely and perform necessary interventions to protect the patient from surgical site infections.
- Maintain required competencies and pursue professional growth through participation in professional organizations.
COMPLIANCE / NOTES
- Participate in required education for applicable programs.
- Agency nurses will be floated to other departments where they are qualified to perform patient care before core staff is floated.
