Position Summary:Performs a variety of duties required to operate the service platforms in the Dining Services operations in a timely and efficient manner, including but not limited to; greeting and serving customers, processing meal cards and/or other cash register transactions, processing GET orders, and preparing and stocking needed supplies for all of the food court operations. Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized and neat work station, stocked as appropriate for the operation, and set up/tear down for the next meal/day operation. Responsible for the preparation of all designated areas as assigned, including but not limited to slicing, cooking and knowledge of operation of all equipment. Must follow all food handing, safety and sanitation policies and procedures. May be assigned to various or specific areas based on operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
*Must have a High School diploma or equivalency.
*Must be able to effectively write and communicate in English.
*Must have basic math skills.
*Must be able to exert well paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours.
*Must have the ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds in weight.
*Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and use finger dexterity for periods up to 4 hours at a time.
*Must be able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
*Must be able to visually differentiate colors for the purposes of food safety.
*Must be able to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes and loud noise.
*Must be able to work independently with the appropriate amount of supervision.
*Must be able to listen attentively and comprehend verbal instructions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
*One year in a food preparation position.
*Experience in a high volume a la carte operation and proven customer service skills.
*Successful cash register experience.
*Experience with MICROS registers.
*Working knowledge of standard commercial kitchen equipment.
*Current managerial ServSafe certification.
*Demonstrates a professional demeanor.
*Successful experience assisting customers
*Experience working with students and a diverse multi cultural staff.
