TheField Service Engineerwill be responsible for customer satisfaction in all aspects of the job. Increased throughput, decreased downtime, regular Preventive Maintenance, regular upgrades as deemed by Beckman Coulter technical staff. A clear advocate for the customer (internal and external) and a steward for the company.

This position reports to the Field Service Manager as part of the Service Organization located in the Chesapeake Service District and will befully remote covering a service territory around theWashington DC, Baltimore, MD, Hagerstown MD, and Virginia Beach.

Must reside within territory, or be willing to relocate (Richmond, VA, Virginia Beach, Washington, DC)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment including providing excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter's customers along with technical training on products.
  • Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times. Utilize business systems such as OBI, SalesForce, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
  • Communicate with various levels of internal and external customers, recognizing and addressing their unique needs. Foster collaboration by assisting with the training of newer Field Service Engineers.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Associate degree in a technical, biomedical engineering, instrumentation, electrical engineering or related field OR equivalent military experience
  • 1+ year of experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • This position requires travel up to 50%, driving (occasional flying), which will include overnight stays, to cover the region
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted (tools, replacement parts, consumables etc.). Candidates must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist, turn, crouch/crawl, push/pull, and sit/stand for extended periods of time. Candidates must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, have good hand, and fingerdexterity.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biomed, engineering, or related
  • 2+ years' experience of advanced troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
  • Developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, leading to increased customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term retention

The hourly range for this role is$35.00 - 37.00.This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
