Job description

  • Lead Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across multiple operational facilities within the assigned region
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development for regional EHS Managers
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve regional EHS programs, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations
  • Partner with Operations, Construction, Engineering, Facilities, Security, and other stakeholders to identify and mitigate operational risks
  • Lead regional safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Oversee investigations for significant incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained
  • Manage EHS compliance documentation, reporting, and required recordkeeping
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor safety performance and ensure site-specific safety plans meet Switch standards
  • Oversee third-party safety consultants supporting Switch operations, as applicable
  • Serve as the primary regional liaison with regulatory agencies, insurance representatives, and external stakeholders on EHS matters
  • Manage the regional EHS operating budget and allocate resources to support business priorities
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and leadership teams
  • Lead regional safety meetings and participate in cross-functional operational planning
  • Partner with Construction EHS teams to ensure safe transitions from construction into operational environments
  • Identify industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices to strengthen Switch's EHS programs
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, root cause investigations, lessons learned, and operational metrics
Requirements
  • 10 or more years of progressive Environmental, Health, and Safety experience
  • Experience leading EHS programs across multiple facilities or regions
  • Experience supervising and developing EHS professionals
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and Environmental, Health, and Safety management systems
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, safety audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Experience managing contractor safety programs
  • Experience developing and implementing EHS policies, procedures, and training programs
  • Strong conflict resolution, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned region
