Regional Sales Manager – (VA, NC, SC)
 
Position Overview:
 
We are seeking an energetic, competitive, and determined individual to join our sales team. While prior experience in industrial automation sales is not required, you must have a strong desire to learn quickly and collaborate effectively with internal teams.  The ideal candidate will cover a territory that includes Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
 
As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing our product sales within your assigned territory. You will develop business with Key Accounts, System Integrators, and End Users, while also supporting our distribution channels. Success in this role requires a combination of technical aptitude, solid sales expertise, and strong people skills.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Territory & Business Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales business plan for the assigned territory
  • Drive revenue growth and achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Develop and support Distribution sales and team, including channel strategy and partner development
  • Analyze territory performance and recommend strategic adjustments for accounts, channels, and market focus
  • Develop sales with End Users, System Integrators, Key Accounts, and Distribution partners
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers
 
Account & Opportunity Management
  • Manage and grow opportunities through effective pipeline management and forecasting
  • Conduct product presentations, demonstrations, and training for customers and distributors
  • Lead contract and pricing negotiations within established organizational guidelines
  • Document all sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions in CRM system
 
Market Intelligence & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Provide market trends, customer insights, and competitor information to Product Management
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Support to address customer needs and drive regional initiatives
  • Utilize post-sales and service structure to support customers and ensure satisfaction
 
Events & Field Activities
  • Attend regional and national trade shows, conferences, and key industry events as required
  • Travel up to 50% overnight within assigned region to support customers, partners, and business development activities
 
Qualifications:
Required:
  • MS, BS, or Associate Degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant sales experience in industrial automation plus electronics/mechanics and application knowledge
  • Ability to understand networking mechanisms and transfer skills between customers and our demands
  • Diplomacy, conflict resolution, intercultural social competence, and strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/Opportunity Management systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
 
Preferred:
 
  • Industrial automation sales experience
  • German language skills 
 
Travel & Physical Requirements
 
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Valid passport required for potential international events
  • Able to lift products or equipment up to 50 lbs

  • Bonus opportunity: Up to 50% of base salary in quarterly performance incentives (OTE)
