The Underclass Driver is responsible for safely operating non-CDL commercial vehicles to transport household goods, office furniture, and related materials for local and regional moves. This position supports CDL drivers and moving crews by ensuring timely, professional, and damage-free transportation services while complying with company policies and DOT/FMCA safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate company-owned non-CDL trucks and vans in a safe and lawful manner.
  • Transport household goods, commercial freight, and storage materials between customer locations and company facilities.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, packing, and securing shipments.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery of paperwork, and job documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations staff regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
  • Ensure proper use of pads, straps, dollies, and protective materials.
  • Provide professional customer service at all job sites.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and accident reporting requirements.
  • Support warehouse operations when not assigned to driving duties.
  • Comply with DOT, FMC, and company regulations at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (Class D or equivalent).
  • Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards.
