The Vice President, Fulfillment & Distribution Operations position is an on-site role located in Olive Branch, MS.


Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking an experienced operations executive to lead a multi-site network supporting high-volume e-commerce fulfillment, distribution, and light manufacturing. Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain & Manufacturing Officer, this leader will drive operational excellence, develop high-performing teams, and execute strategies that improve customer service, productivity, and profitability.


This role combines strategic leadership with operational execution. You'll oversee complex distribution operations, lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimize network performance, and help shape the future of our growing supply chain.

Lead Regional Operations

  • Multi-site fulfillment and distribution operations
  • High-volume e-commerce and small parcel fulfillment
  • Light manufacturing and personalization operations
  • Operational Excellence, Engineering, and Safety teams
  • Network capacity planning and peak season readiness
  • Continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma principles
  • Cross-functional partnerships with Transportation, Finance, HR, IT, Customer Experience, and Merchandising
  • Leadership development and succession planning.

Drive E-commerce Fulfillment and Small-Parcel Performance

  • Lead high-volume ecommerce fulfillment, including order flow, pick-pack-ship, sortation, returns, exception management, and on-time ship and customer service performance
  • Improve order cycle time, dock-to-stock performance, units per labor hour, cost per order, cost per shipment, inventory accuracy, damage rates, returns handling, and carrier performance.
  • Partner with Transportation, Customer Experience, Merchandising, Planning, Finance, IT, and external providers to ensure fulfillment performance supports customer expectations and business growth.
  • Own peak readiness: capacity planning, labor modeling, inventory positioning, contingency planning, and disciplined execution.
  • Manage parcel carrier, 3PL, packaging, automation, and maintenance vendor relationships.

  • Deliver exceptional results in safety, service, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and cost.
  • Lead network planning, labor strategy, and operational execution across multiple facilities.
  • Drive Lean initiatives, process improvements, automation, and technology implementations.
  • Own operating budgets, labor planning, and productivity improvements.
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Lead capital projects, operational transformations, and network optimization initiatives that support future growth.

Own Financial and Strategic Performance

  • Own operating budgets, labor plans, productivity commitments, and cost improvement plans.
  • Manage P&L-impacting decisions across labor, supplies, freight, parcel, packaging, maintenance, inventory accuracy, quality defects, and vendor spend.
  • Build business cases for capital investments, automation, facility changes, technology upgrades, outsourcing, insourcing, and network changes.

Develop People and Culture

  • Build a high-performing leadership bench across directors, senior managers, operations managers, engineers, safety leaders, and analysts.
  • Create a culture grounded in safety, accountability, respect, communication, recognition, development, and measurable performance.
  • Lead through complexity, ambiguity, growth, turnaround, peak periods, systems change, and operational transformation

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive operations leadership in ecommerce direct-to-consumer fulfillment, distribution, logistics, small-parcel operations, light manufacturing, supply chain, or related environments.
  • 5+ years leading Directors, Senior Managers, General Managers across multi-site/multi-function operations.
  • Experience leading large, multi-site operations through senior leadership teams.
  • Strong background in e-commerce fulfillment, distribution, or omnichannel operations.
  • Proven success improving operational performance, productivity, quality, and financial results.
  • Experience managing budgets, labor planning, and P&L-impacting decisions.
  • Knowledge of WMS, ERP, automation, labor management systems, and operational analytics.
