Job description

Opal Collection is seeking an experienced landscape professional to assist with oversight of subcontracted landscape and irrigation services across our Sarasota and Florida West Coast resort portfolio.

This is not a landscape crew foreman position. The Landscape Supervisor represents ownership in the field—inspecting properties, identifying horticultural and irrigation issues, monitoring contractor performance, coordinating corrective work, and helping maintain the high landscape standards expected at upscale coastal resorts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspect landscape conditions, plant health, turf quality, and irrigation performance
  • Direct and monitor subcontracted landscape and irrigation providers
  • Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective action
  • Monitor coastal and tropical plant material, pests and disease
  • Communicate priorities, progress and recommendations to contractors and resort management
  • Assist with landscape renovations, replacements and improvement projects
  • Photograph and document property conditions and prepare clear field reports
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of landscape, grounds, account management or contractor-oversight experience
  • Strong knowledge of Florida tropical/coastal plants, turf and irrigation systems
  • Familiarity with IPM, plant health and disease diagnosis
  • Ability to interpret landscape and irrigation plans
  • Strong computer and technology skills required, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel; digital photography, file management and cloud-based document/photo sharing
  • Ability to efficiently prepare, organize and distribute photographic and written field reports
  • Familiarity with Adobe or photo-editing/annotation software preferred
  • Strong organizational and professional communication skills
  • FNGLA, GI-BMP, or related industry certifications preferred
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between Florida West Coast properties

Experience with resorts, hotels, golf properties, high-end commercial landscapes, large landscape accounts, or landscape contracting is especially desirable.
