Job description

Key Account Manager

Coors Distributing Company (CDC) is one of the nation's leading beer distributors based out of Denver, CO. We are the critical link between our brewery suppliers that produce the beer and the retail outlets where they are sold, as well as the restaurants and bars where they are consumed. In the role of Key Account Manager working in Denver, Colorado, you will be responsible for using syndicated, external and internal sales data to develop and disseminate regular reports to Sales, Marketing and CDC Management, and for working closely with the management team to analyze business trends to advance CDC's market objectives. This position provides support to stakeholders such as CDC management and external partners such as small chain C-Stores. In addition, execution will be required for mandates with Chains, and serving as a liaison with headquarters. The Key Account Manager will be responsible for supporting accounts such as Costco, Target, and C-chain stores.

Responsibilities

Account Management (60%)

  • Managing the business relationships between Suppliers, Buyers, Chains, CDC, and serving as a representative for smaller-scale brands
  • Serving as the focal contact with corporate calls, and delivering results from key performance indicators
  • Serving as a liaison between CDC and headquarter offices of accounts
  • Continuously nurturing rapport between CDC and Suppliers, Buyers, Chains, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Managing communication channels, approaches, and strategies conducive to market growth and development

Chain Business Management (30%)

  • Owning the growth strategy of volume, distribution, space management, program implementation, and development opportunities for retail stakeholders
  • Analyzing internal and syndicated sales data to measure CDC's performance against internal plans and supplier goals, identify opportunities/threats, and provide insight into root causes of identified issues.
  • Developing scorecards to track performance against KPI's and providing regular progress updates against long term goals.
  • Performing ROI Analysis and pricing analysis

Training Support (10%)

  • Identifying training needs for data, systems, and procedures that support CDC's selling activities.
  • Providing education with data interpretation into actionable tasks
  • Providing education with brands to buyers, and also education from chain buyers to the salesforce
  • Leading and supporting internal and external planning meetings (distribution and volume planning, profitability/pricing, budgets, etc.)
  • Assisting Brand Managers and the sales force with analysis needed to develop presentations that incorporate compelling sales data and insights.
  • Assisting in tracking and facilitating key sales initiatives including new product launches, incentive programs, and sales force goal setting and recapping

Other

  • Performing SKU prioritization analysis S&OP
  • Ensuring compliance with retail standards through pre/post analysis reporting for resets
  • Working in Market with both Chain and Supplier customers
  • Creating and executing of pricing and other resources needed for account management
  • Possessing familiarity with leadership and governance of internal CDC processes
  • Other duties as assigned
Other Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
  • Proficiency with creating and implementing processes
  • Proficiency with creative programming and ability to effectively present recommendations
  • 5-7 years in a Chain/Retail leadership role
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills
  • High level of personal accountability/results orientation
  • Strong communication (Written and Verbal)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Business analysis experience within a CPG or beer company strongly preferred
  • Strong level of diplomacy & organization
