Job description

 Regional Eye Associates is seeking a full-time Optometrist to join our growing team in Cumberland, MD, supporting a newly developed optical shop through high-quality clinical care, patient education, and close collaboration with our ophthalmologists and optical staff. This opportunity is ideal for an optometrist who values team-based care, community service, and the ability to make a meaningful impact in an area with significant eye care needs.

About the Role

This position focuses on comprehensive optometric care within a collaborative ophthalmology setting. While you will not be responsible for managing the optical shop, your clinical expertise and patient recommendations will play an important role in supporting the optical experience and ensuring continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive optometric services, including medical eye care and post-operative co-management
  • Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists in a multidisciplinary care model
  • Support the optical shop by educating patients on eyewear options aligned with their clinical needs
  • Partner with optical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience
  • Serve a diverse patient population, including individuals with limited access to eye care
  • Uphold Regional Eye Associates’ standards for clinical excellence and compassionate care

What We’re Looking For

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Maryland
  • Strong interest in collaborative care with ophthalmologists
  • Patient-centered approach with excellent communication skills
  • Desire to serve and engage with the local community
