Position: Substitute teacher
Requirements: An Illinois Professional Educator Substitute teacher License in good standing.
Preferred: High school teaching experience

Position Overview
The substitute teacher functions in accordance with the policies and procedures of Regina Dominican and is directly accountable to the Assistant Principal. The substitute teacher will work within the daily schedule at Regina Dominican; core hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Roles and responsibilities
  • Teach assigned sections, with lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher
  • May include supervision of study hall or other area
  • Manifests a positive attitude toward professional responsibilities; strives to reflect a positive image of the school and the teaching profession.
  • Works to ensure that the classroom and school cultures are inclusive, respectful, culturally competent, and welcoming to all students and colleagues.
  • Supports the school philosophy and educational outcomes.
  • Discharges professional responsibilities conscientiously; handles confidential materials in a professional manner.
  • Upholds and enforces school rules and administrative regulations.
  • Displays cooperative, respectful, and positive relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, students and their parents.
  • Shows sensitivity and flexibility in working with adolescents; is available and approachable.
  • Maintains accurate and complete records as required.
  • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Principal.
