Job description

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Foreman Commercial & Industrial Refrigeration to lead refrigeration installation projects while supervising field personnel and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This position is responsible for training and mentoring installation crews, coordinating daily project activities, managing labor resources, and serving as the primary technical leader on assigned job sites.

The ideal candidate has extensive commercial refrigeration experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead technical resource for assigned commercial and industrial refrigeration projects.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and supervise apprentices, journeyman technicians, and installation crews.
  • Prioritize and delegate daily work assignments to maximize productivity and project efficiency.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Track project performance and provide regular progress updates to management.
  • Manage labor hours and assist with cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify project changes and communicate the need for change orders when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Ensure all employees follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, proper PPE usage, and safe vehicle operation.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures regarding project documentation, timekeeping, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and subcontractors as assigned.
  • Promote quality workmanship while ensuring installations meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Assist with project planning, coordination, and scheduling activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records, labor tracking, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Rhode Island Refrigeration Journeyperson (R.I. RJ) License is required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a trade school or technical training program preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, commercial construction, mechanical contracting, or a related skilled trade.
  • Previous experience leading crews or serving in a foreman or supervisory capacity preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
