Rack Refrigeration Technician

Livonia, Michigan | Full-Time

Are you an experienced HVAC/R professional with strong supermarket or commercial refrigeration experience? Were looking for a skilled Rack Refrigeration Technician to take on a hands-on role maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing critical refrigeration and facility systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who understands rack refrigeration, enjoys solving complex mechanical problems, and can confidently work across multiple building systems.

What Youll Do

Youll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility equipment. Your expertise will help keep critical systems operating safely, efficiently, and reliably while minimizing downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC/R systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair work orders on refrigeration and facility equipment

  • Troubleshoot and maintain supermarket-style rack refrigeration systems

  • Diagnose refrigeration system issues and complete necessary repairs

  • Maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems as needed

  • Perform facility inspections and identify conditions requiring corrective action

  • Complete interior and exterior building repairs when necessary

  • Maintain accurate equipment and maintenance records

  • Update work orders in real time using a CMMS/work order system

  • Submit required purchasing card receipts and documentation

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain equipment in a safe, energy-efficient manner

  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency service needs

What Were Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 4 years of building engineering, HVAC/R, or refrigeration experience

  • Strong commercial refrigeration experience, specifically rack refrigeration

  • Experience troubleshooting supermarket refrigeration systems

  • Universal EPA/CFC certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex refrigeration and facility equipment

  • Valid driver's license

  • Comfortable using computers, tablets, and electronic work order systems

  • CMMS experience is preferred

  • Experience with Corrigo or similar work order systems is a plus

  • HVAC/R, refrigeration, or electrical trade school or apprenticeship experience is preferred

  • Ability to participate in an on-call schedule
