Job description

  • Provide leadership to ensure all company safety rules and regulations in accordance with regulatory agencies are observed by employees, site safety goals, and administer safety initiatives

  • Interface with regulatory agencies as required

  • Ensure quality of product during process

  • Provide technical and tactical support to the hourly employees

  • Ensure the execution of the daily production plan

  • Uses the production modules under the SAP system

  • Ensure operations personnel perform quality work

  • Participate in a daily meeting with production team

  • Oversee necessary arrangements to keep plant running during breakdowns

  • Provide feedback 

  • Supervise hourly personnel. The Production Manager has responsibility for overall operations management to achieve goals.

Basic Requirements: 

  • 2+ years supervisor experience in heavy industrial manufacturing environment; previous experience as department supervisor for larger facilities would also be a fit; industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. preferred

  • Positive & proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions

  • Demonstrable success in cultural 'turn around' a plus

  • Prior experience demonstrating effective management skills

  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic

  • Fluency in spoken and written English

  • Knowledge of operational management 

  • Knowledge of people management skills

  • Experience in mining and/or heavy manufacturing industry preferred

  • Technical credibility as it relates to industry, with a preference on mining

  • Demonstrated ability to assess organizational and people issues, provide coaching and mentoring, and deliver solutions that improve facility performance
