Bio-Deterrence SME

The Opportunity: As someone with specialized expertise in biological defense and threat mitigation, your ability to analyze, plan, and develop innovative solutions is vital for addressing emerging security challenges. Your insights can help solve complex problems impacting global readiness and ensure mission success in safeguarding the nation.

As a Bio-Deterrence SME you’ll leverage your advanced knowledge of biodefense measures, bio surveillance, epidemiology, and biological threat mitigation to strengthen policy frameworks and operational methodologies. You’ll collaborate with senior DoD leaders to assess and refine biothreat contingency planning, analyze vulnerabilities, and ensure preparedness against biological hazards in support of strategic CWMD objectives and treaty compliance goals.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in developing defensive protocols, hazard containment strategies, and biodefense readiness solutions that integrate into broader CBRN-defense policies. You’ll lead the creation of research-driven deliverables, guide policy recommendations, and work alongside stakeholders to align biodefense operations with DoD priorities.

You Have:
  • Experience developing bio surveillance frameworks, threat mitigation strategies, and readiness measures for biodefense programs aligned with DoD and CWMD objectives
  • Knowledge of biological containment protocols, epidemiology, infectious disease response, and national security frameworks related to biodefense
  • Ability to assess vulnerabilities, refine policy frameworks, and develop research-driven solutions for biodefense operations
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
  • Experience collaborating with senior DoD leadership to shape bio surveillance and biological hazard containment strategies that align with treaty compliance and CWMD policy objectives
  • Knowledge of advanced biodefense protocols, emerging biological threat landscapes, and defense planning methodologies such as JCIDS and MDMP
  • Ability to synthesize epidemiological data and intelligence into effective policy recommendations and operational plans
  • Master ’s degree in Biochemistry, Epidemiology, Public Health, or National Security Studies
Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Compensation:

Salary range: $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The compensation is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, and experience.
