Job Description

Position Summary
The Mobile Reefer Technician / Trailer Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and inspections on refrigerated trailers, trailer equipment, and transport refrigeration units in both shop and field environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair units
  • Perform preventative maintenance on transport refrigeration units.
  • Conduct DOT inspections and trailer repairs including brakes, ABS, suspension, lighting, and structural components.
  • Respond to roadside and customer-site service calls using a company service vehicle.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and work orders.
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and company safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of related trailer, reefer, or diesel equipment repair experience.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Thermo King and/or Carrier certifications.
  • EPA Section 608 Certification.
  • DOT Inspection Certification.
  • CDL preferred but not required.
