Job description

Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Director of Business Development - Fires for our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business. The Director will lead business development efforts for the US Army Fires community in support of the company's Army combat vehicle, guns, and launcher products. This position will be the sector's primary representative in the Huntsville, AL area and will have responsibilities for building and maintaining customer relationships at Redstone Arsenal and the surrounding area. Responsibilities:
* Serve as the lead and provide strategic direction to the company's business development efforts for fires related products
* Serve as the primary business development liaison to the Huntsville area for the Platforms and Services sector
* Support growth of the opportunity pipeline, to include extending and expanding our current portfolios
* Support the development and execution of strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities within the US Army and international combat vehicle portfolio
* Maintain close customer relationships, understanding their needs and shaping customer requirements
* Assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers in assigned market space
* Participate in and lead when appropriate marketing efforts including trade shows and representation during sponsored events to promote the company and the combat vehicle portfolio
* Provide support to the Director of Army Business Development and work as part of a geographically dispersed team in support of the business and customers Required Education, Experience, & Skills * Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
* Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of experience or equivalent experience
* Experience in Business Development in Defense or Government Contracting
* Experience with the US Army and/or Defense
* Excellent networking skills with a proven ability to build successful, long-term customer relationships
* Proven ability to operate effectively in ad hoc teams and groups
* Ability to clearly and simply articulate compelling business opportunities both written and verbal
* Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills, orientation to details, and the ability to make informed decisions
* Excellent research, analytical, and negotiating skills
* A self-starter, able to work independently as well as lead projects when called upon
* A creative problem solver

Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
