Job description

Title: Capture Manager Program Summary KBR's Defense and Technology Solutions (DTS) business unit delivers comprehensive engineering and technical solutions across the full lifecycle of military systems including on land, at sea, in the air, and in space. By integrating emerging technologies with deep platform expertise, KBR enhances mission effectiveness on a global scale. With strengths in digital engineering; research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E); cyber; AI; modeling and simulation; and rapid prototyping, KBR delivers innovative solutions that drive defense and security advancements. Job Summary KBR is hiring Capture Managers to join our Defense and Technology Solutions (DTS) business located at the KBR offices in Huntsville, Alabama. This on-site role focuses on Army aviation, and Army and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) air and missile defense opportunities in the Redstone Arsenal market with ability to work across the DTS portfolio. This is a key position responsible for fulfilling multiple roles in the opportunity lifecycle including business development, capture management, solutioning, volume lead, writer, and reviewer. We are looking for an integral team player who works collaboratively with others, and who can also work independently, coordinate projects, develop and learn new skills, and maintain communication with various stakeholders while working on multiple simultaneous projects. The primary responsibilities encompass pursuit management activities, customer-facing capture, marketing material development, knowledge management, and research and analysis. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Research, analyze, and assess business opportunities, consistent with company long-range and strategic goals.
  • Evaluate opportunities through conducting financial feasibility studies, market research, and competitive analysis.
  • Maintain professional relationships with existing clients and develop new client contacts in the assigned market.
  • Keep abreast of development plans of existing clients and challenges they face.
  • Identify new opportunities and work with the technical teams to grow profitable revenue for the company.
  • Manage assigned pursuits, resources, schedules, and lead pursuit teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Translate capture objectives into a schedule and series of activities to meet the required outcomes.
  • Coordinate and work with KBR counterparts on cross-organizational synergy bids.
  • Team development and management (subcontracting).
  • Briefing leadership on strategy, capture status, teaming, milestone reviews, etc.
  • Developing call plans, executing customer calls, and documenting interactions in call reports.
  • Using information learned through research and client interactions to develop win strategies and solutions and effectively communicating these to the proposal operations team.
  • Some travel will be required.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, communications, or related field with 12+ years of industry experience including 4+ years of experience in business development.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an Active Secret security clearance. or be eligible to obtain and maintain one
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong network of Army and MDA clients in the Redstone Arsenal portfolio is highly preferred.
  • Currently managing a large pipeline of Army and MDA opportunities, including aviation and missile systems is highly preferred.
  • Salesforce proficiency is preferred.
  • Clear and compelling writing, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the willingness to work overtime including nights and weekends on short notice.
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills including exceptional persuasive writing skills to craft a clear story.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook.
  • Superior organization and follow-through skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and analytical ability.
  • Proven winning track record is required.
  • Excellent business acumen skills.
