The term 'redline' comes from the traditional practice of marking changes in red ink. Redlining helps all parties easily identify what has been added, removed, or modified, making the review process transparent and efficient. It is commonly used by lawyers, contract managers, and editors to ensure clarity and accountability in document revisions.
