Job description

Art Teacher

Position: Part-Time Art Teacher

Redeemer School is seeking a Part-Time Art Teacher to bless our Kindergarten through 8th grade students in weekly lessons and hands-on projects. 

We utilize the Art In Action curriculum as a foundation for each grade level's lessons and, given our prioritization of the Arts through a dedicated teacher, expand on this program with additional projects that tie in to our core subjects like Social Studies, Geography, and various Heritage/History Months.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Love for art, early education and working with children.

● College degree in Early Education, Art, Art History, or similar field 

● Experience in the Arts and/or as an Early Educator 

● Ability to manage a classroom and engage with children from K-8th grades

● Ability to coordinate and communicate with parent volunteers

● Effective interpersonal skills, ability to engage with other teachers on co-curricular activities

● Desire to work in a Christian environment and apply Christian values in the classroom

● Experience creating lesson plans and assessing/grading elementary level students

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Teach Art in Action foundational curriculum in a creative and engaging way for K-8th graders

● Communicate with other teachers to supplement with additional thematic projects

● Coordinate and schedule parent volunteers

● Order, organize and manage all art supplies

● Participate in staff meetings, when necessary

● Ability to lesson plan and assess/grade at the K-8 level

CONDITIONS

● Successful passing of Department of Justice (DOJ) background check

● Proof of negative TB screening within the last sixty days prior to employment

HOURS AND PAY

● 15-20 hours/week

● $28-35/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
