Job description

Job Summary

The Tuxedo Club seeks experienced, enthusiastic and customer service-driven Lifeguards to join our team for the season!

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of the Lifeguard is to ensure the safety of all members and guests in the pool area
  • Ensure all NYS Health & Safety Standards and Codes are followed by maintaining proper balances of pool chemicals and cleanliness of all aquatic operations
  • Complete daily operations forms for opening/closing of each shift
  • Assist Pool Director with all documentation for NYS and The Tuxedo Club and all ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
  • Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED
  • Must be able to enforce rules and regulations in a professional manner
  • Current WSY certification preferred
  • 1 year Lifeguard experience preferred
  • Team player that is energetic, professional, and has a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work varied shifts which include weekdays, weekends & holidays

Compensation & Benefits

Working Conditions

It is expected that, at times, you may have to work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts & toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • May need to work in wet or humid conditions, near moving parts, near fumes or airborne particles, in extreme non-weather heat, & in extreme non-weather cold
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, use hands & fingers, reach with hands & arms, talk &/or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, & depth perception
  • Employees must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs multiple times per day, & push a cart weighing up to 100lbs
  • Expect to be on their feet for up to 6 hours at at time
  • Must practice proper body mechanics & use appropriate personal protective equipment to avoid injury
