Job description

We are currently looking to hire a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team at Animal Clinic of Woodland Park in Woodland Park, Colorado.
  • Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, certifications, licensure, and location
  • Additional benefits: Sign-on bonus of $2500, License reimbursement, Continuing Education allowance of $1000 per year
  • Schedule: 4/10-hour shifts, some Saturday coverage required.
  • Location: 801 US-24, Woodland Park, CO 80863

We take pride in caring for pets in a friendly, open atmosphere, emphasizing client education. Our doctors are trained in all aspects of internal medicine, dentistry, and surgery, and they work with clients to provide the best possible care for their pets. We primarily treat dogs and cats, but our staff also work with birds, snakes, turtles, lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs and the occasional tarantula. They are supported by our dedicated staff of skilled veterinary technicians, vet assistants and receptionists.

Who You Are:
  • 3 + years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in Colorado, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire required
  • Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Passion for working with small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
  • Ability to perform nursing care in a hospital or outdoor setting
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
  • Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
  • Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
  • Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
  • And all other duties of a Registered Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
