Recycling Tech 3rd Shift

Job Description Summary

The incumbent is responsible for transporting, separting and baling recyclable materials such as wood, plastic, cardboard and trash. The individual must operate tugger, forklift and baling/compacting equipment. The incumbent will also be responsible for cleaning the immediate work area and occasionally cleaning other areas of the plant.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Daily interior cleaning of the building including emptying waste receptacles, debris and trash removal.
  • Transport recyclable materials from disposal areas to recycling areas.
  • Responds to customer calls using radio equipment.
  • Must be able to operate heavy mobile equipment such as forklift, tugger and scrubber.
  • Must be able to operate industrial equipment such as compactors and balers.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of safe use of cleaning agents and equipment used to perform job duties
  • Must be willing to work evenings or weekends (on call) in the case of an emergency.
  • Reliable, thorough, observant, organized, flexible and courteous
  • Effective listener and team player
  • Understand written or verbal instructions from the designated supervisor
  • Some cleaning experience and basic mechanical knowledge is preferred
  • Practice the necessary safety protocols and procedures
  • Follows through and carries out work orders
