Job Description

The Employer Engagement and Recruitment Services Assistant Director is a member of the Employer Engagement and Recruitment Services Team and reports to the Director of Employer Engagement and Recruitment Services in Career and Professional Development.
This position serves as a primary contact, resource, and conduit for the CPD staff as well as external colleges/departments within the university, as it relates to the establishment and maintenance of employer relationships that increase internship and post- graduate job opportunities. This position is also involved either directly or indirectly in the day-to-day operations of their assigned team and Career and Professional Development as a whole.
The Employer Engagement and Recruitment Services team endeavors to positively influence the overall employer experience during the recruitment and hiring process of Virginia Tech students.
This team works to build new employer relationships and to strengthen current relationships- advancing the development of student opportunities by influencing the campus recruiting strategies and talent pipelines for employers.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and significant experience working in human resources, talent acquisition, career services, or a related field.
Demonstrated history of relationship building with a service and sales orientation.
Good communication, listening, and strategic problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree and demonstrated experience working or knowledge in human resources, talent acquisition, career services, or a related field.
Experience using Handshake software platform.
Experience pulling and reporting data from various systems.
Experience working with hiring organizations seeking college student candidates.
Experience working in higher education
