Job description

Job Title: Recruiter

Location: Wake Forest, NC (Hybrid role) after training has been completed. Onsite requirement is once per week. 

Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 per year

Corporate Chaplains of America is seeking a highly resourceful and mission-driven Recruiter to proactively identify, engage, and screen qualified candidates for Chaplain opportunities nationwide.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the hunt for great talent and is comfortable going beyond traditional job postings to find candidates. The Recruiter will use LinkedIn, Indeed, Boolean searches, social media, and professional networks, while also leveraging cold calling and direct outreach to churches, seminary alumni networks, Christian organizations, and other creative sourcing channels to build strong candidate pipelines.

In addition to proactive sourcing, this position will conduct phone interviews with applicants and sourced candidates to evaluate qualifications, interest, communication skills, and alignment with CCAโ€™s mission and missionary mindset.


Objectives of this Role

  • Input into overall sourcing strategy of the organization to ensure our teams consist of a diverse set of qualified individuals
  • Develop an expertise for online sourcing tools including; LinkedIn, Social Media, Job Boards, Search engine optimization, Boolean search strings and iCims applicant tracking system
  • Responsible for developing and tracking job posting strategies
  • CCA representative at prospecting events i.e. career fairs, conferences, and conventions
  • Champion CCAโ€™s Employee Referral Program by developing content to actively engage operational teams concerning the program and incentives
  • Devise and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants, such as employer branding initiatives

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate CCAโ€™s mission statement and evaluate potential candidateโ€™s alignment with our missionary mindset
  • Proactively source qualified Chaplain candidates nationwide using LinkedIn, Indeed, job boards, social media, Boolean search techniques, internet research, professional networks, and other sourcing tools.
  • Conduct outbound outreach and cold calls to passive candidates who may not be actively seeking new opportunities.
  • Develop creative and out-of-the-box sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill locations and positions.
  • Conduct phone interviews and initial candidate screens to assess qualifications, interest, availability, and alignment with CCAโ€™s mission and missionary mindset.
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future Chaplain hiring needs.
  • Develop relationships with churches, seminaries, Bible colleges, Christian universities, seminary alumni networks, ministry placement offices, chaplaincy organizations, denominational networks, and other Christian organizations.
  • Partner with the Recruiting Manager to understand staffing priorities, geographic needs, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Develop and monitor job posting and sourcing strategies, adjusting approaches based on candidate flow and hiring needs.
  • Support and promote CCAโ€™s Employee Referral Program.
  • Represent CCA at career fairs, conferences, conventions, ministry events, and other recruiting or networking opportunities.
  • Participate in boots-on-the-ground recruiting in assigned markets when needed.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, interview notes, and sourcing activity within iCIMS.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated recruiting, sourcing, talent acquisition, or related experience.
  • Strong ability to identify and engage passive candidates.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with individuals who have not applied for a position.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Talent Solutions, Indeed, job boards, social media, and other sourcing platforms.
  • Knowledge of Boolean search techniques and creative internet sourcing methods.
  • Strong phone interviewing and candidate screening skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to creatively identify new talent sources when traditional recruiting methods are not producing results.
  • Ability to manage sourcing efforts across multiple geographic markets.
  • Experience with an Applicant Tracking System; iCIMS experience is preferred.
  • International candidate sourcing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Strong commitment to and ability to effectively communicate CCAโ€™s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required in Human Resources, Business, Communications, Ministry, or a related field.
  • 1โ€“3 years of recruiting, talent sourcing, talent acquisition, or staffing required.
  • SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, applicant tracking systems, online sourcing platforms, and internet research tools.

The Sourcing Specialist actively searches for qualified people, builds relationships within Christian and professional communities, reaches out to passive candidates, conducts meaningful screening conversations, and continually finds new ways to connect CCA with individuals who have both the qualifications and mission alignment to serve as Chaplains.

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. May be subject to repetitive motion such as typing, data entry and vision to monitor. May be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
